Mission Statement
We,
the members of the parish community of St. Rosalia as of
October 9, 1993 declare ourselves to be people of God united
together as a faith community believing in Jesus and
committed to him through Catholic tradition. By virtue of
our common Baptism as Christ was anointed Priest, Prophet
and King, so we share in His Priesthood by striving to
prayerfully worship God, as a Eucharistic Community, we
share in Christ's role of Prophet by rooting our lives
within and proclaiming God's Word and we share His Kingship
by endeavoring to better our knowledge of Him so that we may
reflect God in our daily lives by serving others.
We
are empowered to be a disciple of Jesus by being nourished
and strengthened by His Word and the Sacraments of His
Church.
We
give witness to the Presence of Jesus among us in Greenfield
and Squirrel Hill, by warmly welcoming new members into our
community, compassionately reaching out to those in need and
lovingly praying for those who have neglected and abandoned
the Catholic way of life.
Therefore,
I personally welcome the challenge of God and my fellow
parishioners to never be satisfied with who I am, but
rejoice in who I can become, to never be content with what
is good, but to be happy with only the best, and so I commit
myself to become the best Catholic Christian in the history
of the Parish Community of Saint Rosalia.
