Come along with Father Joe and members of Saint Rosalia Parish from Saturday, October 6, through Tuesday, October 9, for a pilgrimage to Philadelphia and Lancaster.

We will leave Greenfield on Saturday morning, October 6, and head to our hotel. We will be staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel–Philadelphia Center City, 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19103 – 215-561-1776. All rooms have such amenities as cable TV, hair dryers, coffee makers, microwaves, refrigerators, irons, and ironing boards. After checking in, we suggest that you attend the 5:15 p.m. Mass at The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul that is located across the street from the hotel. After Mass, you can stop by the hotel’s complimentary happy hour that is held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The way that you spend the rest of the evening is up to you. There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

On Sunday, October 7, the included breakfast will be served from 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. We will meet in front of the hotel at approximately 8:45 a.m. to board the bus that will take us to our tour of Independence Hall. After the tour, we will board the bus and head to the Reading Terminal Market where you can do some shopping and have lunch. When you visit this market, you can enjoy eating virtually every type of cuisine, from sublime soul food and exquisite Asian and Middle Eastern Dishes to authentic Philly Cheesesteaks and traditional Pennsylvania Dutch fare – all available from largely family-run stands. When we leave the Market, we will board the bus with a guide who will narrate a 2 hour tour of the City of Brotherly Love. We will head back to the hotel where they have a complimentary happy hour every day from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. if you wish to attend. You are free to spend the rest of day doing whatever you would like to.

Monday morning the included breakfast will be served from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. After breakfast we will board the bus and head to Lancaster to the Sight and Sound Theater where we will see the play “Jesus”. After the play, we will head to Millers Smorgasbord where you will dine on some tasty food. You will also have chance to shop in some of the stores that are located right on their property. After dinner and shopping, we will head back to our hotel in Lancaster and the rest of evening is free to do what you would like to do.

The last day, Tuesday, again the included breakfast will be served from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. You can sleep in or rise early, but you must be ready to board the bus at 9:00 a.m. for our departure. Along the way there will be a quick stop for lunch and another stop at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in New Stanton, PA, for dinner.
